Motion Sensor: V-990 has a built-in motion sensor. When motion is detected, it can be awakened immediately; when it is static or has lost satellite signal for over 5 minutes, it will automatically enter standby state to maximally save energy. An ordinary GPS data logger will still work after the vehicle stops; in such case, it will consume more energy and produce unwanted way points data. V-990 adopts a motion sensor, so it can automatically enter standby state after the vehicle is static for a certain period of time; once the vehicle start-up or motion is detected, it will immediately be activated and continue to work. The intelligent working mode will greatly facilitate your daily trip.
Data Logging: As a data logger able to work independently, V-990 can record the most detailed GPS information available currently, including date, time, longitude, latitude, speed, height, heading, voice, positioning mode, positioning type, PDOP, HDOP and VDOP.
Geo Tagging: You may integrate photos taken with any camera and tracks of V-990 to share wonderful travel with your relatives and friends on the map*. V-990 can also support GPS information added to digital photos. * Third-party map software, such as Google map, Google earth and Panoramio.
Voice Tag: You may notice that it is a unique feature of V-990. V-990 has the function of voice recording, and you can record voice label for POI with the separate record key. As you play back travel track on the map, you can hear voice segments reflecting your personal feeling, convenient and very interesting. The voice label function is especially suitable for voice remarks when collected data is investigated.
One key POI: You may, during use, manually mark POI (Point of interest) at any time. In playback track, there will be a unique green flag indicating this POI. The manual marking function is especially suitable for the purpose of investigating collected data.
As Mouse GPS: V-990 may also be used as a wired GPS (G-Mouse)* navigator.

MTK) (Electronics) This is my first impression of the device, straight out of the box, unused. Nice looking, well finished, little heavier than I expected. The accessories did not include the carrying pouch pictured online, just a simple slip case. No AC charger. A charger apparently is an accessory. Really? It does come with a car adaptor for charging, so I plugged it in using what appears to be a USB cable but is expressley described as a dedicated charging cable and cannot be used for USB port data transfer or charging. How long before it is lost, confused with one of the many USB cables I have? Also, the unit came with no memory. Labeled "innovative", the data logger uses a micro SD card for memory. That's fine, but it should come with one. So....$70.00 in, no charger and no memory. Not even a good first impression. I have to wonder what else is missing. |
